The Community in India
The Living Ethics Foundation promotes the Agni Yoga Society project and activities both at Crookety, the house where Elena Roerich spent the last years of her life, and at the Goodwill Centre in Darjeeling, working in collaboration with the Indian trusts that support them.
The Mission is to:
- Intensify and radiate from this centre of Fiery energy the magnetism of Agni Yoga, the message of Living Ethics, the life testimony and work of the Roerichs, and in particular the work of Helena’s great Cosmic Consciousness, which is increasingly revealing itself to the world.
- Collaborate with other groups to foster understanding and the dissemination of the energy of Goodwill, as Love in action within Humanity and amongst the Kingdoms of Nature, through educational and cultural activities.
Light of Darjeeling – Creativity in Action
The theme of the year for the activities in Crookety and Darjeeling furthers the theme of Creativity with new insights:

In addition to various local and international events on significant dates for our Spiritual Teachings (see programme), this year we wish to launch a number of activities run by the Himalayan Centre of Agni Yoga in Italian and English, with the opportunity to participate in seminars and meetings at Crookety and the Goodwill Centre. You will find these under the acronym HCAY.

HCAY – CROOKETY CULTURE
Theatre Course
A new educational project is currently being organised, intended to be implemented in several schools in Kalimpong through creative artistic activities, using the stories and legends of Agni Yoga translated into English and Nepali.
CROOKETY EDUCATION
The educational project in Crookety began in 2009 when a collaboration started between an Indian teacher and an Italian one. The Sunday Class was then established, welcoming children every Sunday morning from the village and those sponsored in schools in Kalimpong. The activities offered to the children and young people focused on art, cooperation and manual skills. Subsequently, a group of educators was trained from among the pupils attending the Sunday Class. This led to the formation of the Sensible Group, comprising seven wonderful young women who, for several years up until 2025, ran this initiative, supported by the Italian educational team. The New Year’s celebration in 2026 marked the end of a 17-year cycle and the beginning of a new one. We currently continue to sponsor a number of children who wish to attend schools in Kalimpong and whose families require financial support. There are currently nine of them, aged between 5 and 14.
